Intelligent Methods Applied to Archaeology and Heritage (MIARP)
The workshop Intelligent Methods Applied to Archaeology and Heritage (MIARP) is a forum whose objective is to explore how intelligent methods are transforming the efficiency of practice in the field of archaeology and the integral management of heritage, allowing the processing and extraction of knowledge from large volumes of information, or from fragmentary, noisy information of a complex multimodal scale.
The workshop also seeks to create a critical debate, not limited to the presentation of technical success cases, but helping to discuss the ethics and bias of intelligent algorithms in the interpretation of the past, as well as the problem of AI explainability, which can lead to conclusions that compromise scientific rigor and the authenticity of cultural memory. We invite researchers and professionals in both the field of computing and digital humanities to present works that push the frontier of what is possible, ensuring that technological progress goes hand in hand with transparency, reproducibility and FAIR principles.
